Interference Analysis for Dedicated Indoor WCDMA Systems

In a previous paper we showed results for the coverage and capacity for passive and active WCDMA DAS indoor installations using a simplified model with the other-cell interference factor as an input parameter to the simulation [1]. In this paper we calculate the other-cell and own-cell interference for the radio downlink using a network simulator for the outdoor and indoor environment. Abstract— This paper presents simulation results on the othercell to own-cell interference values and traffic capacity for dedicated indoor WCDMA systems. In the simulation an outdoor WCDMA network with sectorised antennas, pilot power and soft handover is considered. The interference factor determines the maximum cell load, i.e. the maximum number of users in the cells.
